News flash!!!

Dad can now use his walker, unassisted, and walk from the corner of the bedroom, down their long hallway, to the living room wood-burning stove and back to the bedroom!!!! That's HUGE!!!

This week we have given Dad two requirements in order to cease full-time home care and change over to just day-time care (mostly to help Mom with household chores and do daily therapy with Dad). First, Dad has to be able to get on and off the toilet without assistance and, two, he has to be able to get in and out of his bed unassisted. Using the walker is the best thing to gain strength in his legs to enable those requirements!!! Dad does not use any assistance from the full-time caretaker at night, and would like very much to only have someone in their home from about 9 a.m. until about 6 p.m. rather than live there 24-7. That will make him AND Mom very happy!!!!!

Oh,come let us sing
of our rock of salvation.
All of us present;
let us come with thanksgiving
making joyful noise with psalms ~ Psalm 95
